PULL-OUT BRANCH FORMING TECHNOLOGY
A More Controlled Branch Transition for Stainless-Steel Booster Manifolds
Pull-out forming is a manufacturing process in which a branch collar is formed directly from the wall of the main stainless-steel header.
After the pilot opening is prepared, controlled forming tools are used to raise and shape the branch collar. The connecting branch is then positioned and welded according to the approved manufacturing procedure.
The result is a formed branch foundation that can reduce the need for a large conventional cut opening and extensive internal weld finishing.

Internal Protrusion
Finished Appearance
Production Consistency
Conventional Cut-and Weld
Full branch opening cut into header
Dependent on opening preparation, fit-up& weld finishing
Dependent on fixture setup and operator control
May require additional internal finishing
More visible fabricated branch joint
Depends on fabrication and process control
Pull-Out Formed Branch
Controlled pilot opening with formed collar
More gradual formed transition
Tool-controlled forming can improve repeatability
Can reduce internal weld protrusion
Cleaner integrated branch transition
More repeatable when the forming process is controlled
In a multi-pump booster system, the suction and discharge manifolds provide the common flow path between multiple pumps and the connected system piping.
At each branch connection, flow changes direction as it enters or leaves the main header. The geometry of this transition is therefore an important consideration in manifold design and fabrication.
YuRong’s pull-out forming process creates a controlled branch collar directly from the main-header
wall before welding, providing a more defined transition geometry and a repeatable foundation for branch positioning.

ENGINEERING CHARACTERISTICS OF PULL-OUT FORMING
✓ More Controlled Internal Branch Transition
✓ Reduced Internal Weld Protrusion
✓ Improved Branch Positioning Consistency
✓ Cleaner Finished Appearance
✓ Repeatable OEM Production
✓ Reduced Need for Extensive Internal Grinding
The engineering value of pull-out forming is not simply the finished appearance — it is the ability to establish a controlled branch geometry before welding, supporting more consistent fabrication across recurring OEM production.
